Wed – God is our comforter. Day 3 – Today I was in a bit of a rush in the morning, and I lead worship which was lots of fun and God totally used me because if hadn’t had a rushed morning I would think here we are I can sing this is my thing but because I was stressed I had to pray to God and realised I had to lead the songs in his strength not my own.
We sung –
· With Jesus in my boat I can smile at the storm, smile at the storm, smile at the storm as we go sailing home.
· There is no one, there’s no one like Jesus, There is no one, there’s no one like Jesus, There is no one, there’s no one like Jesus, there’s no one, there’s no one like him.
I walko walko here, there, I’m searching searching here there, I turn around here there. There’s no one like him
(Bemba translation )Takwaba uwaba nga Yesu, Takwaba uwaba nga Yesu, Takwaba uwaba nga Yesu, Takwaba takwaba kabe.
Nayenda yenda, Konse Konse, nafwya fwya konse konse, nashingulaka, konse konse takwaba uwaba kabe
· Making melodies in my heart, making melodies in my heart, making melodies in my heart, to the king of kings .... Thumbs up....elbow together .... feet apart.......bottom out......turn around.........tongue out
My favourite is making melodies because it’s really catchy and the kids got so into, I heard from one of the team members that later on in the afternoon he was playing football with some of the boys and one boy in the middle of playing started singing Making melodies and then it was stuck in my team members head all day. :D
Wednesday night was really beautiful we did a night program with the kids, we played some games then we taught them the song this little light of mine, we turned off all the lights and gave them all a battery operated candles and glow sticks and sung this little light and there is no one like Jesus, it was beautiful to see all the children wave their candles and sing the songs really loud. I had a moment too, I once we had the lights back on Pastor Shane explained that each them gets to keep their candle and that whenever they are afraid that can turn on their candle and remember that Jesus is with them.
And I looked over to the youngest girl there, she was sitting staring at her candle, and I had this image of her sitting somewhere really dark and putting on that light and singing quietly to herself knowing that Jesus was there with her.
